Waltham Forest CSPAN
Waltham Forest Community Sport and Physical Activity Network (CSPAN) has been established as part of Sport England’s Delivery System for Sport. The network is an instrument to enhance communication between partners aspiring to increase the levels of sport and physical activity of the people of Waltham Forest. Its vision is:
'Growing Active Together'
The Waltham Forest CSPAN exists to bring together under a common purpose agencies involved with providing, or agencies with the potential to provide, opportunities for sport and physical activity in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. Its main purpose is to
- Increase participation in high quality sport and physical activity by 1% year on year
- Widen access to sport and physical activity among low participation groups such as women, people with disabilities, people over 50, people from ethnic minority communities and those on a low income
- Support the development of progression pathways to ensure individuals reach their full potential
The Waltham Forest CSPANs vision and purpose is underpinned by a number of strategic goals that are outlined in its Terms of Reference.
The Waltham Forest Youth Sport Exec Board is a sub-group of the CSPAN that provides leadership and sets the strategic direction of youth sport in Waltham Forest including the local delivery of the Goverments PE and Sport Strategy for Young People (PESSYP).
