The Sport and Physical Activity Partnership for London

Step Up

Step Up

The ‘Step Up’ project is a training package designed to build capacity within third sector organisations to deliver physical activity opportunities for the inactive and to build skills in applying for funding through the NHS commissioning process.

The initiative was commissioned by London London Sport partnerships, funded by the Department of Health and delivered by the Institute of Primary Care and Public Health, and the Human Performance Centre at London South Bank University in 2010.

Feedback from the participants showed that they found the workshop both enjoyable and useful. They felt the delivery of the course was professional and that it was well planned and structured. The opportunity to network was valued as was the amount of information that was given. All participants were given a workbook and this was well received, although some would have liked more time to go through its content and discuss.

A full report of the project can be found in the realted documents section in the right hand column.
