Sport Makers & Other Sports Volunteering
Sport Makers & Other Sports Volunteering
This year, anyone can be a sporting hero with Sport Makers!
Whether it’s planning the route, finding the pitch or encouraging people to take part – sport doesn’t just happen, it needs people to make it happen. Become one of 40,000 Sport Makers and you’ll not only get the skills, knowledge and opportunities you need to get more people playing sport, you’ll become part of the official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic sports legacy.
What are Sport Makers?
Sport Makers simply make sport happen. Whether getting out into the community, helping out with a local sports club or encouraging your friends and family to get active, a Sport Maker can help deliver the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by encouraging others to get involved in sport at any level - whether it is by organising a five-a-side tournament with friends, helping a club to organise a tournament or taking on some of the supporting tasks which make an event a success such as managing a team of race volunteers, taking part in Sport Makers will allow you to give as much or as little time as you like to encourage others to take part in Sport.
Becoming a Sport Maker not only gives you the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference to others, but the experience also looks great on a C.V, allowing you to meet other Sport Makers and other contacts - developing friendships and possibly also contacts to help you in your career!
As a thank you for giving your time, you will recieve an ADIDAS polo shirt and some other goodies - you may even get to meet one of our Olympic Ambassadors!
