PRO-ACTIVE North London is now welcoming organisations in North London to apply to be part of the Sportivate programme. Funding is available to support activities running during July 2011 to September 2011.

For an activity to be included in the Sportivate programme it must meet the following criteria

  •  Targeted at 14-25 years olds
  •  6-8 weeks of sports coaching must be delivered
  • Activity must be new or provide additionality to existing projects
  • There must be an identified need for the project
  • There must be a confirmed exit route for the project with capacity for increased numbers of participants or alternatively evidence that the sessions can be sustained
  • Sportivate funding will not 100% fund any activity
  • Meet minimum operating requirements

Projects will also have to demonstrate how they are inclusive for all potential participants in line with PRO-ACTIVE North London Equity Policy. Further information can be found in the Guidance document at http://www.pro-activenorthlondon.org/sportivate.

PRO-ACTIVE North London are keen to support organisations that have a longer term approach to increasing and sustaining participation in sport and will seek to support organisations with their development/business plans through the programme. We will also look to support these organisations through linking in other services and programme such as the forthcoming Sport Markers programme - a 2012 inspired volunteer programme.

Unlike Sport Unlimited there will be one central pot of funding that both delivery and strategic partners can apply to. However we will be working closely with the North London Boroughs in developing their plans.

If you would like to apply to become part of the programme please see the North London Guidance and Planning Form at http://www.pro-activenorthlondon.org/sportivate. The deadline date for plans to be submitted to PRO-ACTIVE North London for activities running from July 2011 – September 2011 is the 27th of April. Successful applicants with be informed by the end of May 2011 subject to Sport England approval.

To provide more information and support for organisation in the planning process we have organised a workshop on the 13th of April, at Middlesex University, Trent Park Campus from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Mansion Building in Room M004. You will have the opportunity at the workshop to talk through your project with members of staff from PRO-ACTIVE North London.

Directions to Trent Park are availbel here and a map showing the location of the Mansion Building is avaiable here.

It is strongly recommended that you attend the workshop or contact PRO-ACTIVE North London before applying to become part of the programme.

We would also like to hear from organisations who would like to be part of the programme from October 2011 – March 2012
