Waltham Forest Fit Club

As part of London Borough of Waltham Forestís commitment to increasing participation in sport and physical activity across the borough we are offering local groups the opportunity to apply for funding to help deliver projects to the local community.

The Fit Club project has secured funding from Sport England to deliver increased participation and sustained attendance in sport/ physical activity sessions for four key target groups. These are:

  • Women and Girls
  • Over 45ís
  • People who are new to sport
  • Families

The aim of Fit Club is to encourage people to participate in sport and physical activities taking place in their communities, especially those who do not currently exercise.

Grants will be awarded to sports clubs and groups who want to develop new activities for over 45s, women and girls, families and anyone new to sport.

Funding will also be available to clubs that want to increase the number of trained coaches and volunteers they have.

The Fit Club project will run until March 2011, and grants will be awarded via a tender process.

The closing date for applications is Friday 30 January.
