National Sports Foundation - has significant monies available for this financial year.

National Sports Foundation (NSF) has significant monies available for this financial year.

There is some urgency to spend this budget as it is Exchequer funding. This means that there is a requirement for it to be allocated and actually spent by 31 March 09. So if you have any possible projects in the pipeline in your area or through your CSPANs which might be able to work within the tight timeline please forwards them to Patrick Brosnan, details below or contact www.nationalsportsfoundation.org

NSF is a national funding programme which sits within Sport England and matches new investment into sport of over 50k. It was originally set up to match (new) commercial investment into community sport but this has been relaxed so that they can also match money from trusts, foundations and individual donations.

The tight timeline is challenging but could suit revenue projects with delivery before the end of the year or possibly focussed around events during this period. Also projects with capital elements where either expenditure could be made during this period or where some front loading so that expenditure could be brought forward within the timeframe. For example NSF identified a project for NSF support which had significant capital expenditure planned on equipment purchase spread over 2 years. This has been brought forward to the front of the project so that NSF can match funds spent on this element during this period.
