Complete your first Triathlon England AQUATHLON

Haringey Aquathlon
Saturday September 1st 2012 - The first of many!

What is Haringey Aquathlon?
Haringey Aqualthon is a swim and run event aimed at 16+ adult beginners. It's been developed with the novice in mind, to give people who have never done Triathlon events a chance at having a go, and for people who do some independent exercise the chance to give themselves a challenge. So if you are new to Triathlon, an occasional runner or swimmer, a regular novice Triathlete or just looking for something different to do on a Saturday morning  - then this is the event for you!

There are four categories to enter: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Team, each with increasing lengths of swim and run. The event will start in the Lido and finish on a local playing field at the end of the run.

The event has brought England Athletics, England Triathlon, Action For Kids and a whole host of local partners together with the aim to host the first of many Haringey Aquathlons and to start a new Triathlon Club in Haringey. So by taking part you are not only raising money for charity, but also helping to put in place an exciting annual event and a new sport club in Haringey.

Action For Kids is a national children’s charity based in Haringey. We work with children and young people with learning and physical disabilities. We provide specialist mobility equipment, a family support service and our Towards Independence programme features work-related learning and life-skills training. Our Towards Independence programme aims to give young disabled people the chance to learn key skills such as cooking and handling money. We also offer real work experience in our office where young people learn computer skills, office admin and fundraising initiatives. But the focus is not all on hard work!

We also have social events, trips away and sporting activities.  Action For Kids’ innovative and positive attitude ensures it is a place where disabled young people can meet, learn new skills, make friends and above all have fun! Action For Kids is funded almost entirely by voluntary donations so we really do rely on the support of event participants such as yourself to help us continue our vital work. By taking part in the Haringey Aquathlon not only will you be part of a great event you will also be supporting your local children’s charity.

£1.50 of your registration fee will go to Actions For Kids and if you would like to raise sponsorship money, no matter how much, Action For Kids will really appreciate your support. We can give you lots of ideas and help with your fundraising, so for starters why not set up an online fundraising page? Simply go to: OR
