Basketball Head Coach

    Responsible to: Greenhouse Programme Manager
    Location: South London
    Contract: Initially 1 year fixed term (dependent on funding)
    Hours: 40 hours per week (may include some evenings and weekends)
    Holidays: 20 days per year + 8 public / bank holidays

    Description

    Greenhouse helps young people living in disadvantaged communities to develop positive life skills through sport & performing arts, targeting those who may not otherwise have access to these opportunities. Our inclusive, wide ranging programmes include full time provision delivered in schools & community club settings throughout the London region. Programmes are delivered by a diverse and multi-talented team of full and part time coaches who are supported by a number of other paid and voluntary staff.

    The Role

    Following the success of our existing Basketball Programmes delivered in schools across London, we are looking to expand our work by recruiting a full time head coach to work within our new partner school in South East London. The role will be school based and will include leading the planning and delivery of a comprehensive programme of high quality basketball coaching for young people living in disadvantaged communities.

    The Person

    Possessing a strong track record of successfully delivering high quality basketball coaching programmes, you will have a passion for and firsthand knowledge of working with young people living in disadvantaged communities.

    You will also be comfortable to act as a role model and mentor to young people from within the school by planning & delivering a fully inclusive programme of specialist basketball coaching in accordance with the Greenhouse and the Schools Basketball programme objectives.
