This role will be to manage the development of community sport within one of three sub-county areas of Surrey, building effective relationships with all stakeholders and making a significant impact on the long-term sustainability of high quality sport and physical activity in the county.
This will include identifying the priorities and needs of a diverse range of governing bodies of sport (NGBs) and sub-county networks and brokering links between them. In your allocated area you will advise on all aspects of the core service requirements including workforce development, NGB liaison, club development and sports funding applications.
As well as line managing a number of project staff you will also take a specific lead role in developing local sports clubs and facilities. In particular you will set up a support system for sports clubs in Surrey to attain Clubmark accreditation and support NGBs and local clubs to access opportunities through Building Schools for the Future.
To be effective in this varied and exciting new role, you will need credibility with partner staff of all levels, a sound knowledge and experience of sports development and an understanding of relevant national drivers affecting sport and physical activity provision.
