Lambeth Sports & Recreation department is looking to recruit a Community Sports Officer for a Permanent Full time position with specific duties surrounding the London Youth Games.
Lambeth Sports and Recreation Unit has a dynamic Community Sports Team that is driven to provide quality sports activity to all sections of the community. It is our intention to build on our core programme of activity by promoting the London Youth Games ethos and principles throughout Lambeth and working with a range of different sporting agencies to develop a comprehensive Lambeth Team. As part of our continuing drive for excellence, we are looking for an experienced and dynamic person to take up the challenge to coordinate the games and supporting activities for the borough.
The successful candidate will be required to have an in-depth knowledge of community sport initiatives and have experiences of working with community/voluntary sports agencies across the borough. The candidates must understand the ethos and importance of London Youth Games and structured competitive opportunities for young people.
You will be the first point of contact for enquiries concerning the development of the games. As your day to day communications will range from dealing with schools, sports clubs, voluntary organisations, general public, to press officers, you will possess excellent inter-personal skills. You should have a range of sport project experiences, which include financial and budget management control. You will be required to deliver sport sessions and programmes and be able to work on your own initiative.
