England Basketball Capital Facilities Fund

    • Type: Capital
    • £ Available: Not specified
    • Focus: Basketball

Financial assistance is available for the building of basketball facilities throughout England. NB: THE ENGLAND BASKETBALL CAPITAL FUNDING FOR THE 2010/11 AND 2011/12 HAS NOW BEEN ALLOCATED TO CAPITAL BUILD PROJECTS. SUBMISSIONS FOR CAPITAL FUNDING SHOULD ONLY BE SENT IN IF THE FACILITY IS TO BE BUILT IN THE 2012/13 FUNDING YEAR (ARPIL 2012-MARCH 2013).

The National Basketball Facilities Plan 2009 - 2013 demonstrates that basketball in England is in need of dedicated facilities that are primarily for club use in order to meet and maintain the growth targets illustrated in England Basketball's Four-Year (2009 - 2013) plan.

The development of a comprehensive network of basketball facilities, to address the requirements for a major indoor international team sport, remains the biggest challenge facing England Basketball in its efforts to meet the demand for court-time to play and to practice basketball, and thereby increase participation to improve performance.

The growth of England Basketball's network of accredited clubs means substantial investment into club-based basketball facilities is needed.
